The Reading Agency's new State of the Nation report has been published. It shows that millions of people across the UK are actually reading regularly, from social media posts to books, recipes and subtitles, but many still don’t see themselves as “readers.”
Research found that:
- Just under half of UK adults say they are not readers
- The reading crisis is about identity, not appetite or time
- Reading is the third most popular free time activity for British adults
- Reading enjoyment varies by reading format, including e-books, audio books, newspapers and more.
